This is a social studies unit that will particularly focus on U.S. History.  It is to get students to learn, understand, and build their knowledge about 13 colonies more importantly colonial life. Students will learn and understand the importance of the original 13 colonies to U.S. History as it is symbolized on the U.S.Flag. Students will learn who founded the 13 colonies, the year it was founded, and why it was founded.I really encourage students to relate to the way of life of the people and how they helped make America today. Students should learn about the importance of the European explorations including why the Colonist came to America, how they arrived, survived, and lived. I want them to understand how the colonist influence and enhance our living today. I would like students to understand the geography of the original 13 colonies be able to say where each colonies is on a map and which colonies are near it. Students will learn about indentured servants, slaves, race and gendered roles.  Students will also learn about roles and point of views of colonists Students will learn about problems and conflicts that the colonies and colonist faced. Students will learn about the day to day life including trades, jobs, and religious practices. We will use a variety of activities including maps, TV programs, songs, photographs, webpages, video clips, movie, and articles to understand colonial life. I will present a lot of the materiel to the students to learn. Using wix and a smartboard in a lecture style class.  Students will collaborate with the teacher and classmates on presentations, virtual field trips, projects, and role plays to learn the knowledge. All this will build and express  their knowledge of the 13 colonies and colonial life.
